Moonshot Therapy & Wellness in Charlottesville, VA

Welcome to Moonshot Therapy & Wellness

A “moonshot” is when a problem or obstacle is approached in new, radical ways that shape the future. A moonshot is a plan of action that surpasses wishful thinking and causes real change. This is our moonshot.

Jennifer N. Best, M.A., CCC-SLP, CDP

Speech-Language Pathologist, Owner

Jen Best SLP_edited_edited.jpg

Jennifer is a speech-language pathologist with a passion for helping her patients live their highest quality life, aging wherever and however they want to age. By using a person-centered therapy approach and promoting open-access health care, she provides speech, cognitive, and swallowing therapy services that result in true and meaningful life improvements.

Jennifer earned her master’s degree in Communicative Science Disorders from Hampton University and spent her early career working in long-term care settings. After years of serving adults of all ages, she became a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) to offer dementia caregiver coaching services, and she initiated the process of becoming a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) through the Brain Injury Association of America. With her specialty training in neurogenic and neurodegenerative communication disorders, she founded Moonshot Therapy & Wellness to offer a higher standard of care to adults in the Charlottesville area.

Jennifer is committed to listening to her patients and looking beyond their diagnosis to see their unique experiences, perceptions, barriers, and successes. In some ways, she attributes this to her experience as a military broadcaster with the United States Air Force—which taught her that everyone has a story to tell and each story is as unique as the person telling it.
